Privacy Policy

Segelly helps you keep, organize and share your medical record. Health data is among the most sensitive data there is, so we handle it on one principle: you own your data and you make the decisions. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it and the rights you have, in line with Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.

In short: we don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and nobody sees your medical record except the people you share it with, for as long as you decide. You can delete your account and your data at any time.

1. What we collect

  • Account data: the phone number you sign up with, or your Google or Apple sign-in details (such as name and email) if you choose that option.
  • Profile data: name, date of birth, sex, and blood type (optional).
  • Health data you add: conditions, medications, allergies, lab results and vitals, vaccinations, and photos of documents and reports.
  • Family members' data for the records you manage from your account.
  • Sharing and access logs: the shares you create, and who opened them and when.
  • Technical data needed for security: such as device type, IP address and sign-in times, to protect your account from unauthorized use.

2. How we use it

  • To run the service: store your record, organize it and show it to you.
  • To read values from the photos of lab reports and prescriptions you take (once that service is switched on), and show them to you to confirm before they are saved.
  • To carry out the shares you request with your doctor or others.
  • To protect your account: verify your number, detect suspicious sign-ins and log access.
  • To contact you about your account or the service when necessary.

We process your health data on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by deleting the data or your account.

3. Who can see your data

  • Only the people you share with: every share is your decision, limited to the scope you choose and to a time window, and revocable at any time.
  • Technical service providers we rely on to run the app (such as hosting, databases, verification messages, and reading text from images). They process data on our behalf and on our instructions only, and are bound to protect it and not use it for anything else.
  • Authorities where the law requires it, and only to the extent required.

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How we protect it

  • All data is encrypted in transit between the app and our servers.
  • Strict access control: every request is checked to confirm the requester is entitled to that data.
  • A security event trail of every read or share of your health data, which nobody can edit.
  • App lock with a PIN or fingerprint, and an extra confirmation before sensitive actions.
  • Temporary shares that expire automatically; doctors get a read-only view.
  • Our technical operating logs contain no medical data.

5. Retention and deletion

  • We keep your data for as long as your account exists.
  • If you remove an entry from your record it disappears immediately from your record and from any share, and is permanently erased when you delete your account.
  • When you delete your account, your health data, your photos and the access log you see in the app are permanently erased. Only the security event trail remains (the type and time of each action and internal identifiers), with no medical content, for as long as the law requires.

6. Your rights

At any time you can:

  • Access your data and correct or update it in the app.
  • Revoke any share and see a log of who opened your record.
  • Delete your data or your entire account.
  • Know who processes your data and for what purpose.
  • Complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center if you believe your rights have been infringed.

7. Children and family members

Segelly is meant for adults, and our terms of use require the account holder to be an adult. Children's records are managed by a parent or guardian from their own account. If you manage the record of an adult who has their own account, you do so with their consent, and they can revoke your access at any time.

8. Where data is stored

Your data may be stored on servers run by cloud providers inside or outside Egypt, provided they offer an adequate level of protection and within the limits the law allows.

9. This website

This website itself uses no cookies, no tracking or advertising tools, and has no forms that collect data. Our hosting provider may record basic technical data (such as IP addresses) for security and attack prevention.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and update the "last updated" date above.
